We had to perform one scene to the rest of the class and we chose the first scene the class made minor changes to it but major changes started when Elia took a closer look at it. When me and jabs did our scene a lot had to change for example ven and jet wanted to be knighted and they are fighting over that but the children might not know what that is so we changed it to a hero award ceremony.
This change was challenging at first since we did fumble over our lines a little bit since the change just happened and we got used to the original script. But i think we did finally get it at the end.
Near the end of the lesson we had to perform the whole thing with all the changes and the improvements and we did show some of these changes but it was fully changed so the second half of the play they still say knighting ceremony. When the performance was done we had a lot of criticisms that could improve our piece like a lot of plot holes that we had to patch up. For me the one of the criticisms was that deep voice i was doing was good and when i kept changing from normal to deep was good but the other cast members should comment on it.
When we tried out our costume there was some problems we had that I didn’t think about like how wearing a mask and hat could obscure my face which could hinder my acting so i had to change it i got rid of the mask and hat. I wore a Elvis costume with a red cape and i made sure to get rid of it later on because it would hinder my movements.
one thing that Ella said that really resonated with me especially is to get to know our characters and to try and explore them which made me look back at the character profile sheets to see what i wrote about ven and that really helped me to try and live in these characters shoes and try feel the same way he is feeling.
